Episode 67: Niche Number 1's - Round 6
It's your turn...to click here to send us your comments on the show
Adrian comes back with a classic, it's been over a year since we did a Niche Number 1's episode so it's high time to bring the format back for another round of favourite games in obscure circumstances.
FIRST PLAYER: Adrian
OTHER PLAYERS: JP, Becky, Tambo
In this episode you'll learn:
- that Becky has become a landlady in Taverns of Tiefenthal by Schmidt
- that JP shouldn't be in marketing whilst explaining the latest expansion of Anno: 1800 by Kosmos
- that Tambo is Here to Slay with a light monster killing card game by TeeTurtle
- that sometimes theme doesn't matter in AI: 100% Human as Adrian has played this Essen release he picked up last year
- what our favourite games are at conventions, that other people own and even ones that we can smuggle through customers...intrigued then check out the episode

hello and welcome to whose turn is it Anyway podcast where we talk about board games and our board gaming group my name
0:24
is Adrian your first player and with me today I have the Peerless Tambo hello
0:30
the singular Becky hey and the special JP hello special
0:37
thanks today we are talking about our unique games in certain situations or as we like to call it our Niche number ones
0:44
yay it's been a while since we've done one of these um we come up with odd or
0:49
unique scenarios in which to decide what's our best game in that scenario um
0:55
got a few for you this episode but before we get going how's everyone doing
1:00
I'm all right you're all right yeah I'm all right that was very like that was
1:05
borderline ASMR like do some weird clicking into the microphone now no I'm
1:11
good yeah nice day at work and I'm just counting down the days till I go on holiday now to be honest I'm in I'm in
1:16
Holiday mode when did you go so in a week tomorrow a week tomorrow week tomorrow we'll be going to the airport
1:23
jelly I think I think the rest of us are also counting down maybe not quite as special a holiday but uh we're all
1:29
counting down to our nice weekend away yeah this is the Wednesday before yes
1:34
yeah this will come out the Wednesday before it so um we'll be very excited by the time this episode comes out tell us where you're going we'll talk about it
1:40
more at the end we'll leave suspense we'll leave the suspense H and we'll talk about it on the what we're looking
1:46
forward to sounds
TURN 2 - Let's Talk About Hex
1:56
good so this is the part where we talk about you and me and all the good things and the bad things that have been as we
2:03
talk about hex yeah yeah I missed it so Becky what have you been up to so I
Becky - Taverns of Tiefenthal
2:11
finally played a new game hooray Becky's playing something else yay it's not an
2:16
expansion to it's not an expansion it's a whole a whole new game A Whole New World um I played the other day with JP
2:23
and tampo and my good husband taverns of tythan tythan fall T te
2:31
I don't know T of yeah we'll accept all of the above yeah played that and really enjoyed it really really enjoyed it so
2:37
for anyone who hasn't played it's basically a game where you are the owner
2:42
I guess of a tavn and you are trying to brew beer and make money to lure people into your T sounds seedy isn't it you
2:50
lure people inure you're seating them your at the tables and you're serving the beer and you do that by Rolling Dice
2:56
and only certain numbers can go in certain places so you kind of have to do like a draft mechanic of deciding well I
3:02
want a number five for that and I don't reckon they're going to pick that so maybe they'll give me a one so yeah you
3:07
just kind of deciding where you put your very few to be honest Dice and there are
3:12
ways of being able to roll more dice by having barkeep but barke Keepers wa
3:18
waitresses and uh little pot washers means you can alter the number on your dice so yeah it's just about judicious
3:25
use of dice but it's good really fun nice artwork kind of put me in mind it put me in mind of U Rosenberg maybe just
3:32
because of the artwork I don't know that the gameplay is necessarily similar but it was fun I enjoyed it but here's the
3:37
thing cuz we played with all of the base games modules and one of the open doors
3:44
expansions modules right okay um t t did a me really he said right it's your first game thr it um because you can
3:51
just play the base game which is quite light like to medium if you just play the bass and the clever thing actually I
3:58
found with that game cuz I I've got it for Christmas as well for for the kids um and me and U don't lie it's not it's
4:06
not for your children I've only played base base no modules thrown in with them cuz you know I'm nice and wait till next
4:13
year yeah and it's still fun and uh you know it teaches them the the kind of core mechanics but I forgot how well the
4:19
modules are integrated into that game and the fact you can put them in and put made little puzzle pieces aren't they so
4:26
that you can interchange stuff and turn things over when you upgrade certain yeah got snaps it's got snaps I love the
4:32
the guest snaps so yeah I think bit maybe a bit like when I played terraforming Master the first time I played it with the expansions as my
4:39
first experience so perhaps I'd find it a little bit lacking if I played it
4:44
without any of those so it was really good enjoyed the teach a nice I think the game doesn't outstate as welcome the
4:50
turns it's one of those games where you've got this many turns it's eight say so you know how long the game's
4:56
going to be basically um I think the ter were a little bit longer than they would normally be cuz I was taking too long as
5:03
per normal um but you know it's my first game so give me a break so um yeah I think if everybody knew how to play the
5:09
game it would probably be a pretty quick quick turn yeah I think but yeah I
5:15
really enjoyed it would definitely play again I'm glad you enjoyed it um yeah it's made me want to play it more with
5:21
the modules so I'm like come on kids we're putting schnaps in we're we're doing the reputation track we're we're
5:27
doing everything the guest book The lot we're throwing it all in wine seller the the BART tender Powers the the rooms
5:34
above the the pub all of it I want to get to that that position but you know it's going to take some time in it yeah
5:39
would recommend for well for any player I think perhaps not I don't think Curly's mom would like it for example so
5:46
I should understand how it works because it's it is a very simple you're either earning money or you're making booze
5:51
yeah it's that's it really but I think trying to decide how is the best and most efficient way of doing that if
5:58
gaming isn't your thing that might a little bit above your kind of interest level but it's it's a nice basic game I
6:04
would say it's good though cuz it it teaches you quite a lot of different mechanisms that exist in other games um
6:11
so you've got some like kind of deck building in there you cuz you're procuring staff and extra tables and and
6:18
and guests that you're luring in through sorted means and you've got to do it in a certain order which is quite helpful
6:23
to know actually if I do this first and this first then that's going to come out and card onp of your deck which is nice
6:30
so you can kind of curate your next turn which is pretty good yeah so I love that game I think I actually prefer it to
6:37
quacks I prefer it to qu and I like quack I think qu is a great game I just think there's just
6:43
something more to it and the fact you can layer up the difficulty or or bring it down depending on your audience or
6:49
Gamers around the table you can scale it and go actually go all the way in all the modules everything and it probably
6:55
ends up being uh over me medium to slightly edging out that way know I
7:01
think depends I play with all I would say well with all the base modules I'd say Med basement yeah I'm thinking
7:08
expansion plus yeah but I medium it's not Hardy expansion I don't think no a
7:13
lot of them are quite straightforward once you done all the modules the base game the expansion is like yeah once you got the rules
7:19
down I think I think CS is more of a family game though isn't it we all prefer taverns but I think it's more of
7:25
a family weight game I think it's easier to teach easier to understand more Tac I think it just naturally has a wider
7:31
audience qu um but I said yeah personally for a pushy luck game off that ilk yeah I prefer TN solid game
7:40
enjoyed it what about yourself then JP what have you been up to loads of stuff over the crimbo period as we know um
JP - Anno 1800: The Expansion
7:49
I've been playing a lot of captain's chair so I won't talk about that for a change um I think it's my third most
7:57
played game now so that's good and you've played it with old David himself I very talked about in the previous
8:04
episode um but now I was going to go back to a game it's been a few weeks since I played it but um me Curley and
8:10
Stewart played uh the ano expansion which is funny enough called the
8:15
expansion oh they trans push the boat out for for sort of thinking there didn't because it's all in German and
8:21
thought okay what's it what's it called the expansion expansion yeah well no no
8:27
it's the I don't know what the word is but yeah I had to look it up and translate it and it ended up being expansion so there we go um but what it
8:33
does it kind of adds um airships and different things into ano I mean for those that don't know ano 1800 is based
8:40
off a uh video game lots of resource trading and uh yeah kind of that thing
8:47
of just building progressing through time and era and I have never played it so I'm winging this this video game part
8:53
of the conversation so um I played ano a couple of years ago really really
8:59
enjoyed it and actually it's um it's a really satisfying game to play for me
9:06
because of the the fact you you start with these hand of cards which kind of mimics your population um of of
9:12
different workers that you have and each of the card kind of has a requirement says you need to do that and then you can kind of play the card face down um
9:20
and the objective is to kind of get all your cards played but to do that you're going to need to invest in Industries
9:25
things like pigs and flour and sausages and say sausages invol sausage game but
9:31
read that how you want to um but yeah so ano has been fun didn't actually think
9:38
it needed any expansions but Along Comes one and we got a chance to try it so it it doesn't change it massively it kind
9:45
of adds like I say adds some airships it replaces some of the the third level uh ships that you can build in the game
9:52
that helps you explore new worlds and and things like that um but it adds a
9:57
Kind Of Inventions Style deck and a different cards so that you
10:02
can on your turn you can not only just do one of your main actions you can now
10:07
um pick up one of these in invention cards which are likely to happen mid game mid to late game and some of these
10:15
cards will give you cogs and then you can store these cogs on your board and then you can spend those cogs to do some
10:20
of the same actions that you can do on your main action so it just gives you more efficiency so you just find that
10:26
like in some turns you're doing Three core things now you're like do that and I'm going to bang and do that so you can kind of combo a few things a bit more um
10:34
but yeah I I really enjoyed that game and I keep thinking we should play this more and I bet it'll be another two
10:41
years before I play it it just looks a bit Yeah the amount of little pieces I
10:46
find very it doesn't look amazing and it doesn't look that exciting but I don't know there's something in that game I do
10:52
feel like I need to try it but there's just something there's something about the look it's not and it's not the art style or anything that it's just the way
11:00
and little tiles yeah there is just a lot of pieces I think it's CU it gives me like Feast fro in fear where I just
11:06
think it's it's nothing it's not a grid or anything it's not like a polyomino puzzle or anything that but for some
11:11
reason when I see all of those little tiny chits of cardboard it kind of just makes me want to go like oh I'm not sure
11:18
but I do I should really give it a go because you guys keep saying it's it's good you kind of go into the Matrix with the game and and I think I think it's
11:24
the hand of cards in front of you and that's your puzzle you're you're trying to play the puzzle that you've got so you're like right okay in order to play
11:31
Card a I'm going to need overalls and um sausages like sausages right okay well
11:38
to get sausages I've got to invest in pigs and got to invest in something coal
11:43
so then I can then get the sausage industry and therefore I've now got sausages and now I so you're kind of
11:50
weaving this this path of getting to where you want to and then whenever you don't have the industry that you need
11:55
because there's only a limited amount not one for every player I think there's like maybe two or three depending there
12:01
always one or less or two less so you then am to trade with your fellow players so you end up buying um yeah
12:08
their uh uh their kind of resources off them and they get gold as like uh compensation Gold's great because you
12:14
can start spending it on on different things as well and and the another thing the expansion does it puts uh like a I
12:22
think is a patent thing uh kind of Meo that you can put onto an industry when you build it which means no one can
12:28
steal that until you've used it or have built that's cool or have built another
12:33
industry dibs so it's kind of saying I want it I'm not going to use it quite
12:38
yet quite straight away and you know when someone's looking they're hovering around go where's those sausages I wonder the sausages right now and you
12:44
like nope you're not having my sausages leave them alone um but no it's great love it forgotten how awesome that game
12:52
is and uh yeah with the expansion I don't think it's needed I think the base game's great enough actually but it's
12:58
quite fun and it adds just a little bit more more fun more combo appeal if you
13:04
like to get a bit more out your turns so yeah it's good fun cool I know the
13:09
expansion there you go could have been a better name couldn't it yeah yeah that's what it says on the tin airships and
13:16
cogs something like that that's kind of what it is sure you're not in marketing
13:21
thankfully no thank and T what have you been up to um so recently before Christmas I thought I
Tambo - Here to Slay
13:28
want a quick easy lightweight game to play with the family so I bought a game
13:33
called here to slay and it's done by unstable games um really good good good
13:38
fun it's a deck building not deck building so much it's kind of draw from a deck you don't have much chance of building it it's ball luck out drawing
13:45
out the deck basically but so what you do to win it you got to slay three first to slay Three Monsters because you
13:51
always have in the middle of the table the monster deck and you draw out three on the table and it's the first person to slay three of them or have in front
13:59
of you seven different hero types classes so on your turn you get three
14:04
actions you you can draw you have five cards in your hands and then you get to either play draw a card as an action or you play a hero from your hand so when
14:11
you play a hero from your hand you put it on the table and then you do its ability instantly at the bottom which
14:16
it's a dice luck rolling game that's all it is you get two dice for the whole game and you say if you roll a six plus
14:22
you get to do his ability so it's quite simple and so that's one action or you can activate Another Hero from ability
14:28
from the car on what we've already played um you get to play item cards spell cards and you get to put like
14:35
cursed items under other people's Heroes which that's always nice when you get
14:40
that's yeah and then screw you B yeah and you and spell cards give you one off
14:45
big cool stuff like destroy Another Hero person or draw four cards from the deck or stuff like that or which is the fun
14:52
part of the whole game you get to do um challenge cards so if someone plays a hero and you don't like the fact he's
14:58
playing that hero you can play a challenge card down and then you roll to fight so whoever rolls the highest wins
15:04
so if the Challenger equals or goes higher the the the person who play the action loses so he has to discard the
15:11
card okay but when you throw that other people can throw in modifiers so some people can throw in plus two onto it
15:18
after the roll so if someone rolls a good dice and get no got plus minus two on that and you're like so I can't play it so it's that's how you interfere
15:24
everyone's game um and if you kill a monster you need to have certain classes down to to fight the monster so you got
15:30
to have like a Droid a wizard down into your play area and then you got to fight the monster so you think you all a good
15:36
dice some go no minus two on your world yeah do you know what it's reminded me of and this is not going to be this is
15:42
not going to be popular munchkin I lik munchkin so that is not I'm not that's not me slating it I think
15:48
you're the only one remed me yeah probably ever yes so it's reminding me
15:53
of that kind of like oh you've got this idea in your head I'm going to do this this this and this and then you get a load of people around the T going I
15:59
don't think so and just absolutely wrecking your plan yeah
16:05
pretty much it certainly sounds in the same milk as like unstable unicorns exploding kittens all that kind
16:11
of fastpaced yeah it's fast we play about half hour depends on many players I've only managed to play three people I
16:17
like to you can play up to one to six players or two to six players sorry that's why it beat Beats Munch K cuz it's about half hour not 10 and a half
16:26
hours no but I think if you had more players it would be a bit longer yeah so we we only like you can have a 5 minute
16:31
game or you can have a 20-minute game with three players but I think if you have more players it was at least half an hour I expect um I've already bought
16:37
up two expansions for it of course so how did you feel about the game then yeah we really enjoyed that um so it's
16:43
only extra classes so now you got to put seven classes on the table so it'll be a bit longer now not six yeah um I thought
16:49
with two player it could end so quickly one player could just if you don't have a challenge card you can't stop them MH so as soon as they get the six Heroes
16:55
out different types it's done that's it right yeah so it' be interesting to play more players I'm looking forward to bringing that when weirdly when you
17:01
announced the title of the game I thought is this a Christmas game is it here to slay I that is Santa going to come up
17:09
with an appearance no no it's about Slayer monsters slay moners um the artwork is brilliant you love it it's
17:15
all cute like little cute teddy bear Heroes they're all it's all very kind of cute nice I mean I haven't played
17:21
munchkin for about eight years so God it was I played
17:27
it with you I mean yeah probably was before we even got married I would suggest probably so clearly I don't like
17:35
munchin that much but it does sound the base the idea of the game is really good but that sounds like a better version
17:41
sorry Steve whatever is Jackson I was say Steve WC no that's a that's from
17:47
myphones and things isn't it that's Apple I think so wasn't it Mike wasak and Steve Jobs aren't they yeah I was
17:52
mixing the two together was nice making a hybrid person no that sounds good too
17:57
that sounds good yeah no good fun really good fun cool okay yeah it'll be a good game to put between like go convention
18:02
between like 20 minutes you want a quick easy game yeah to get to the table sounds like a game that would go with rum if the rum's kept on a separate
18:09
table somewhere but yeah certainly sounds like a sort of drinky beer and pretzels sort of game
18:15
Roman gon yeah Ranon yeah nice how about you Adan I have been playing AI 100%
Adrian - AI: 100% Human
18:23
human by explorate so it's going we picked up a
18:29
or I picked up at Essen because it was getting sort of weirdly sort of
18:34
polarized reviews so some people were saying it was their like almost game of Essen or game like top 10 of the Year
18:41
some people were just saying it's kind of straight trash it was really odd but I was like it's a drafting game that's
18:48
very simple by the looks of things but no spending of resources so not like seven wonders where it's like I'll build
18:54
up all these resources and I was just intrigued by the idea of having this
18:59
drafting game where there was no resources it was purely like what you were playing from your hand and you play
19:05
out uh like you play out 14 cards in a tableau with one card already in the center so it's a 3x5 grid mhm three down
19:13
five across and there's two phases of drafting nice simple phase one phase two
19:19
and they all have just different cards and if you're expecting artwork or theme or anything like that you're going to be
19:24
really disappointed because there is there's one bit of artwork on
19:31
your like faction which is supposed to be an AI faction but I think that's
19:36
pretty much where any semblance of a plot stops um so you'll have a symbol of
19:41
like a b or um like a a Jester's mask or something like that and that is it
19:47
that's pretty much all the artwork there is in the game everything else is symbology and there's a lot of symbology
19:53
so I'll get into to to how you play it and then you'll start and understand why then needs to be so much symbology but
20:00
it's a bad and a good thing I think you have a reserve so you'll always have
20:05
three cards in your reserve and you choose to play one after drafting so normal rules you draft round take one in
20:12
like take one into your hand normally when you draft you then play that straight away or it goes into a construction zone or something that this
20:17
goes into your reserve you then pass the group The the sort of Stack around um you sort of your hand of drafted cards
20:24
around drafting cards around and then you'll play one of the three so it allows you to kind of build up towards
20:29
like the big combos at the end of each phase because you can have one right at the start and you'll just hold on to it
20:34
until it's worth points like lots of points you'll do that all the way
20:40
through till you've drafted seven cards and then you move on to phase two and do exactly the same and there's some end
20:45
goals which will say have combos of this that or the other that you score at the end of phase one and at the end of sort
20:51
of phase two of the of the
20:57
game what you'll then doing is as you place it down it's a bit like Earth or or anything like that where you're
21:02
playing it orthogonally adjacent or one of the player Powers as you can play diagonally adjacent as well to a card
21:09
you've already played so you're kind of building it out and all of these symbols will eventually mean something YouTu but
21:14
at start it's just an overwhelming mass of random symbols but what it will say is if you have so every card has a
21:21
number and a color and then how it scores or what it does and one card
21:26
might say if you have you you'll score three victory points for every red card adjacent to each other in adjacent
21:33
spaces to this or two cards that are the same or different numbers that
21:40
are vertically adjacent on this column that you've placed it in and then it
21:45
might say you can have three points for each yellow card in your neighbor's Tableau or you can have one card for
21:53
each Green in your own Tableau but because there's orthogonally adjacent um
21:59
like vertically adjacent horizontally adjacent diagonally adjacent in this Row in all your rows in all your columns in
22:05
your neighbors columns adjacent to this card in your Tableau there's a symbol
22:11
for every single one of those things oh my God then there's a symbol for colors or numbers being equal to or not equal
22:19
to oh my God and then there's um yes so symbols for numbers symbols for colors
22:25
equal like that they're the same that they're different so so there was no kidding there's three um sort of regular
22:32
playing card things that you put next to your board which is your cheat sheet which tells you which every single one
22:38
of these things means and when you first look at this hand of cards on your first game you're like what is this [ __ ]
22:45
like how am I supposed to decipher any of that what I will tell you is by the end of the first round if you're used to
22:51
any kind of symbology at all you'll have it down but I think it's a big barrier to entry and I think this is why it's
22:56
getting such polarized reviews is the game itself I think is exceptionally strong because you'll play a first card
23:03
down and it'll be like well it's one for every red in this Tableau well there's only it's in counts itself so there's
23:09
one point all right I gain one point but you're building it because then you're going to put a blue next to it and then
23:15
the third card you've got is for each blue and red horizontally adjacent is worth three points so you're suddenly
23:21
building this big engine that just gets bigger and bigger and suddenly your points go from one points or two points to Seven Points nine points 12 points
23:28
and you're just building it up and up and up but the barrier to entry is you
23:34
must kind of understand all the symbols from the start of the game or learn them very quickly and so I think this is why
23:39
you've got this polarizing thing of there's no art there's no uh theme we talked about that last episode there's
23:46
no theme to kind of adhere it all together it's purely just symbology that's kind of telling you this is what
23:51
you've got to do and there's so much of it for for a good reason because it allows you to without words say so in
23:59
language free environment it allows you to say exactly what all of these things do and there is there's a few that are really like I think I know what this
24:05
means but what could actually mean and there is Rule books that tell you it's got a little number on it you can read it but I think I have to look at that
24:11
rule book once after I understood all the symbology so real simple stuff on
24:16
that on that point like it all does make sense once you've got the symbology down but the puzzle itself is really good
24:22
because you're like well I could play this now and it'll be worth two points but I reckon with what I've seen being drafted I reckon I could get
24:29
seven points for that later on or eight points for that I'll hold on to it I'll put down this one which might be worth Four Points later on but it's only worth
24:34
one point now but that's the better trade and there's no building of engines in that sense you're just building a
24:40
scoring Point engine rather than like a resource engine or stuff like that and it just the Tableau is not satisfying to
24:47
look at it's not like a an earth or a wingspan or anything where you like look at my lovely collection of pretty
24:53
pictures it's not it's just all symbols so it's not pretty to look at at the end but I found the puzz really satisfying I
24:59
think if you're an abstract gamer person who wants a drafting game CU it's not you know you got like AEL and that which
25:05
is drafting from tiles but there's not really card drafting that's that
25:10
abstract I suppose maybe there is because I like it's a wonderful world and i' say that's fairly abstract but it's certainly in that wheelhouse of fun
25:18
drafting but you just got to be prepared for the symbology if you're happy with that if this is going to come to the table 2 3 four five times with the same
25:25
group where then you're not going to have to let someone learn SYM time I think this is going to be one of those
25:32
reasons why it's at the top of your list or near the top for a simpish midweight
25:37
drafting engine building Tableau building game that I found very satisfying as a puzzle I think if it's
25:43
one where you're going to have to teach the PE people around the table bearing in mind it's six players I think the
25:48
likelihood of it being required to for you to teach a new person each time is
25:54
quite high and I think that might be the barrier to entry on that quite offputting is that new person and
25:59
everyone else already gets these symbols immediately you're just like what is this I don't know what I'm doing I that you're going to feel very disadvantaged
26:06
I think um but it sounds good what's it called ai ai 100% human why is it called
26:12
that cuz you're an AI constructing an AI one of the cards when I was looking up it says when you play a hacking card and
26:18
I was like no one's mentioned hacking cards before what is it the black cards are called hacking cards and there's
26:23
literally all it means is they're the ones that are a little bit more unique that have more sort of do this to your
26:29
opponent or you get to do something there's like cards that will say like switch cards and immediately score them and stuff like that they're all they
26:35
don't have to backstabby they can be move stuff in your own Tableau some are a little bit backstabby but most yeah
26:41
they're like and they're called the hacking cards but it's literally never mentioned in anything apart from a
26:47
certain part of the rule book and I was like what the hell hacking and as soon as you realize oh they're black cards with a skull in the corner
26:54
sure but one of those other symbols of which there are of them yeah one of the
26:59
people I played with really struggled with the symbology on it and I felt very bad for them CU I was like I need to play this cuz it's a game that I want to
27:06
potentially play when I play lot of players but I fell in love with it so
27:11
yeah be down for a game sounds fun nice one mate there we go that's what we've been up to yeah on to the next section
TURN 3 - Main Event: Niche Number 1's - Round 6
27:19
[Music]
27:29
so let's move on to our main section which is Niche number ones as I mentioned at the top of the show Niche
27:36
number ones is a weird concept that we thought we'd try and that seems to have done all right and stuck around for a bit but we've had a bit of a while
27:42
without it what we're going to do is talk about a very specific scenario and
27:48
what your favorite game is in that scenario that's well suited to your scenario that you really like so that's
27:54
what we're going to go with so should we start off with what is your favorite
Favourite game that doesn't have meeples, characters or workers in it
27:59
game that doesn't have meeples workers or characters in
28:04
it this is quite a tricky one to think of isn't it I just think of a game go on and Tambo you tell us what's
28:11
your one okay so mine one is going to be Terri Mars uh Aries Expeditions that's
28:17
the card one you allowed it y go for it doesn't have me's workers and I love the game i' play
28:24
played it a few times and it's just like a mini version of terraform Mars why did I not think of that H I beat you to it
28:30
because I I've got it I anyway You' G chess haven't you no I haven't no that's a good shout to I like that de building
28:37
it's midweight it's perfect that's one of my favorite games ni cover all criteria I do like I do like AR's
28:43
Expedition for me it's the better version I know for a lot of people it isn't but it's quicker the only thing is
28:48
you can get cornered a little bit more in that than I find in terraforming Mars it's easy to get overtaken and never catch up whereas terraforming always
28:54
feels like it's got a bit more of an out but yeah yeah definitely really good there we go good choice good choice I'm
29:00
happy with that one Adrian stand for approval thank you now because we've had a bit of a pre-chat JP is going to try
29:07
one that's definitely got a worker or character in it and is then going to give us a proper answer I don't think it
29:12
it does but you'll probably go yes it does so I'm going to go for setti because I
29:19
don't think it has a worker a meol or a character in
29:26
it just so so there and you can prove me wrong
29:31
and you'll have to remind me what set is search for EXT extraterrestrial intelligence so you you
29:39
you play as a a satellite dish essentially lovely you you move your
29:46
worker or your spaceship around it's a spaceship it's a it's a it's a worker
29:52
adjacent not work it you're just moving a thing by playing cards so it's not really a worker I'm
29:59
going to challenge you does everybody have one everyone has one and it moves around a map and then dictates what
30:04
everyone has a satellite that moves around the solar system which is represented by spinny discs I mean it's
30:11
not got workers as in like you know worker placement we've got five and we have to go here here here here and
30:18
here so it's not it's not like I've got to move it there and then take an action and do this like thing and then like
30:26
it's it's it's a weird one why smug so I think I think he feels like he's thought it all the way through I think I'm
30:31
having it yeah yeah I think I'm having it cuz it is it's borderline I feel like it's gone to V and then come back with
30:38
okay I feel that's how we've got to this point and that's how the best games always say every football fan ever yeah
30:45
goddamn V my backup if you want to know was probably like rebirth or something
30:51
like that cuz that's easy they've got characters what characters well oh rebirth sorry I was thinking revive but
30:58
oh revive yeah 100% and it has me I was like I'm pretty sure you're not getting away with that at all but yes no fair
31:03
enough but I think I think seti do just I think it's just weird enough to awkward challenge it does yeah I'm
31:10
having it go on then Becky mine is Avant card
31:15
yeah I need to play this game there is no meeples no workers or characters other than a person on the kind of a
31:23
number three does this a number four does this like the artist or the so you're not playing characters but you're
31:28
not playing those characters it's just the power power so that's my choice Avant card Avant aard really good fun
31:37
good game sort of Uno adjacent I would say uno in the best possible way oh yeah
31:42
de building deck building Uno adjacent yeah with good kind of Picasso like
31:48
background yeah simple quick fun beautifully packaged very well thought
31:53
out I didn't like it a no my brain couldn't cope with it when we played it
31:58
last I just I just couldn't deal with it all the I don't know all the different PS PS the cards do it was just too much
32:05
I just couldn't do yeah I yeah I can see that I can I'm not saying I can see that with you I can understand why as I lose
32:12
misery I get I don't like the game no I just did that's yeah and I can I can see why it wouldn't necessarily be someone's
32:18
cup of tea yeah but I liked it how about you agent yeah go on go on
32:23
how you going to break the rules well so I thought of a lot of games and thought I've got it and then realized no there's
32:28
a so like I was like oh castles of burgundy easy nice but there's Works in it that shift the dice up all down by
32:34
one probably yeah probably counts then I was like brass Birmingham and then I was like you each play as a character that's
32:41
on that's on the board maybe own your turn order marker but so I was like okay and then I realized that i' played a few
32:46
games of ail summer Pavilion mhm and have kind of oh aul sorry I know I how
32:53
you're saying it's fine I just didn't know what you were saying AEL summer Pavilion that's what I would
32:59
say no no it's fine it's no I was thinking what's this AEL sounds cool
33:04
which tavn were you at again earlier yeah I'm not sure it had teeth and ties or something ties and teeth TI tits and
33:12
Teeth tavs of tits and teeth that's a game I played that's that's sticking in it
33:18
now so yeah so I I've played this again recently a few a couple of times and really forgotten how much I enjoyed
33:25
playing AEL is there only one I haven't played sum Pavan for is that the diamond
33:32
I need to play this one for me I think it's my favorite one because I think it's harder to hate draft Yeah okay
33:39
which is one of I'm not some games I'm good at hate Drafting and other games I'm not and base AEL
33:47
all I am not good at hate Drafting and everyone else seems to be that I play against and so I always feel like I lose
33:52
because I've been hate drafted rather than because I've made other poor choices so I think it's harder to do
33:58
that and I think it's slightly more satisfying with the scoring method so you've got like
34:04
a you've got several rings that are made up of diamonds that are all different colors and to put the first one in the
34:11
one slot you just pay the one Diamond of that color to
34:16
put two in you put two then you put three in the third slot
34:23
and all that kind of thing so you're paying more and more diamonds but the first one you put in that ring is worth one the second one's worth two the SEC
34:29
the third one's worth three and then the way they all come together means you can
34:34
surround spots which gives you free diamonds off of like this shop that's in the middle and if you collect diff the
34:42
if you fill different different Circles of diamonds then you get different points at the end and if you fill up all
34:48
the one slot you get different points so I feel like there's a little bit more puzzle to it but it's also nicer it's less mean so I prefer it I'm quite happy
34:57
to play the base one but I definitely prefer that third one but where does it stand in your opinion between um glass D
35:05
of CRA so I didn't really like CRA but I only played it the once a while ago and did just I wasn't up for gaming I don't
35:12
think that day but I know that that one normally sits lower on the rankings as well for people I played that once
35:18
around Dan's house and I loved it I played it once really liked it so bought it and have not played it since in in my
35:24
typical fashion standard standard yeah um but really really liked that and I almost bought some Pavilion in
35:32
um uh gridon yeah but didn't and I wish I had now yeah I we we can put an
35:39
evening in for some aoes yeah um cly doesn't like it I like to tr different I've played the original one like
35:46
different ones I love to do that so I think the the generally the lowest rated one is the gens one which was the last
35:53
one to come out Queen G yeah I don't know it's hexes or whatever but that seemed to not get a lot of love then it
35:58
tends to be cintra yeah and then it tends to be summer Pavilion and then there all the main one tends to be the
36:05
top one I kind of disagree with those top two but otherwise I haven't played the gardens but otherwise that is the
36:11
right like C bottom for me mhm I did really like it glass stained glass of
36:16
CRA that's and the pieces are like little glittery little fo
36:21
things with with glitter in it what's not excited by the glitter and I don't
36:27
think it's a bad game I just don't think it's yeah fair enough good I cannot I cannot remember how to play it would be
36:33
if I played it now it would be as if I had never played because it's been that long but I did really like it all right
Favourite game that deserves a reprint
36:39
BR so we've covered that topic let's go on to the next one so games that you think deserve a reprint your Niche
36:46
number one your favorite game that you think deserves a reprint so I've got an easy one for that um I played it for the
36:53
first time and it was from our illustrious friend of the podcast Stu enu and he introduced me to discor ank
37:00
Mor pork and I've always been a massive massive Terry preet fan and loved that game and and it is really good yes it is
37:07
quite basic and I think it it's an old game and it shows I guess but as a fan
37:14
of the characters and the world of in the disc world it's just really lovely to see those things sort of bought into
37:21
a game and you can't get it anymore therefore it's a million pounds and people are you know rightly very
37:26
protective of it but I think it's it's good enough that it deserves a reprint and I think the the fandom is strong
37:33
enough that it would you know kind of carry a reprint I think yeah see I
37:38
thought you gone for the what Igloo one you shake F I forgot about iglo my
37:44
God no Becky Choice do you want to just answer Becky's questions he should have done he should have of course the
37:50
answers Igloo pop sorry Terry pret you're on your bik you're You're gone glue pop of although although still
37:57
haven't done it yet I will do it will 3D print I will 3D print it I will I know I will cuz I also I've got plans of making
38:04
like a a cool Char docking charging station from next to my bed which is going to have my like mag mag safe
38:10
charging thing and a so I'm going to do that I am going to do that last time I saw you thinking about Igloo pop or
38:17
doing anything you was on your phone in a cad design yeah I've done it which was at the last year's uh Dev and board game
38:25
we it wasn't even on your phone you had your laptop out as in not the one that was in whatever October it was the one that was one
38:32
before Feb I do have it so it it's it's imp potentia like all my good ideas yeah
38:39
it's it's there it's the answers here glue pop thanks T you're welcome but but Terry pret you know disc World anore
38:46
Pork is is up there but Igloo pop 100% God damn it she just dropped
38:52
dropped this girl like a sack of [ __ ] y yeah so my one is blood bow with card
38:59
game so this is in one of those it it will never happen yeah yeah it will
39:05
never happen because um FFG and 40K and Warhammer Games
39:11
Workshop whatever you want to call them fell out because of various reasons um that are never confirmed but I think
39:17
everyone knows them so they completely fell out they're never going to make games for each other's I for the IP
39:24
again but bloodb team manager was a Fant fantastic game that's kind of a weird
39:30
area control game almost you have several pitches out and you're going to play your players and you're each going to have a race that equivalent to one
39:36
the blood ball races and you're going to just play a card out and it will either foul a person to get theirs off or it'll
39:42
move the ball to your side of the pitch which means you might get bonuses or or you might win points and stuff like that
39:48
and you're going to keep doing you're going to do that on several pitches and then win a cup and then whoever's got the most cups at the end basically has
39:53
won the game it's a bit sort of Smash Up esque if you've played Smash Up in in
39:59
certain respects cuz you're just playing cards to a Zone and then that will do different things but I think it's the
40:06
best version of that I've seen and of course once you're on one side of the pitch no one else can join they can join
40:13
the other side and then once both sides are filled up that's the game done because you only have the two games in Game of blood two teams in the game of
40:19
blood bow and so you're kind of to start with you're kind of trying to put down where you want to go and then your
40:24
opponent kind of tries to find their good matchups um and you just keep playing cards until you're kind of done
40:30
it's just so good I it's really hard to put in I find it hard to put into words how good it is at doing the smashup kind
40:36
of thing um and it's just never getting reprinted again but it absolutely deserves one cuz again you're like ah
40:43
I'll have that in the two expansions just a leg kidney and 200 please it's not it's not a cheap way to go
40:49
unfortunately and it's such a good game could you do like a could you do like a a a blue Peter esque version I probably
40:57
could but I just don't have the desire to do it and I am fortunate enough to know a couple of people who own it how
41:05
many cards is there quite a few especially if you want the expansions I like different cards I'm talking yeah
41:10
all unique yeah well they're not all unique but there's normally like five or six player cards per race then all the
41:17
pitches and then there's like seven or well I think there was like nine 10 Races by the time you finished with all the expansions so there's enough that I
41:24
can't bother to paste up anything myself and I because I do I'm fortunate enough to know people who have the game when
41:29
you see those people get a get a copy of it and maybe maybe for your birthday I'll I'll do one they're also the people
41:36
I know that own battl Star Galactica so they're my kind of you can't ever sell your Games Collection people cuz I rely
41:42
on them to fill certain needs um oh that sounded weird didn't think about the full extent of that yeah didn't F your
41:50
gaming needs my gaming needs need clarified yeah that's all good I mean it's a good shout I've looked into this
41:56
game a few times times I love blood ball as in the IP of it it's fun I used to play it as a kid and uh yeah and I was
42:03
like fun it's had a Resurgence like with the Third Edition and fourth editions or whatever we're on now it's had a
42:08
Resurgence people are back playing it and buying teams more than just sort of
42:14
people that were kind of there was kind of before it was reprinted the game there was like a a cult following of it
42:20
where people buying 3D printed versions or spending a lot of money on metal models from The Originals now it's all
42:26
come back I just think there would be a massive market for it but it's never happening no soft spot for goug die just
42:32
putting it out there oh oh the knowledge over the top of my head there
42:38
nice orcar player there yeah okay anyway Tambo um so to reprint so mine I played
42:45
this at the gridon this this year well last year now um it's legendary
42:50
encounters which is the aliens I loved it I thought it was absolutely brilliant um it's so theortical to the movie
42:57
yeah it was so much fun and the interaction you help each other in the teams and when you get a face Huger which I can't remember do you remember
43:03
the name of the mark yeah when he got a face hugger on it goes in your deck and when you draw it and you're
43:09
dead that's how it works so and he lasted to the third and it just makes it so theoretical to alans and I wanted it
43:16
straight away but he said it doesn't reprint anymore so that's that's yeah definitely deserves a reprint for my it
43:21
looks nice cool yeah yeah he had the full on mats and he had everything that goes with it and it just looked made
43:27
awesome see I had a bunch of legendary Marvel and I found the tear down time and build time for making that was
43:34
almost as long as the play time yeah I bought my nephew the legendary Marvel and it's fun but it takes forever to set
43:40
up and then forever to put away and then Champions came out and I was like well this is superior like to like if you if
43:45
you want your Marvel card fil but I do need to try one of the Apparently legendary James Bond is pretty good is
43:51
it as well but I apparently it's a bit one of those where it's hard to there's a matrix one as well I think yeah there
43:57
is a matrix one quite a few I'm not sure how that one's rated but certainly James Bond and and the um the AVP Universe get
44:05
really well yeah got get lots of love so I can yeah yeah it's definitely one for me nice mine is
44:14
civilization but the 2010 Edition um I think there is space now
44:22
the fact that it's 2025 for them to redo it but clean it up
44:28
a bit and uh you know modernize it so it's it's definitely ripe for a reprint
44:34
or a new addition should we say put a new year on it job done right um because
44:40
I I love uh Civ 2010 um actually I quite enjoy New Dawn but it is more abstracted and is
44:48
quicker um but Civ 2010 gives you the proper civilization feel but it's fiddly
44:54
as hell as we know lots of tokens Lots the things going on in that there is a load of bloody tokens but the way it
45:00
works and yeah I I just think it's right for something there is a space in the
45:06
board gaming industry for a new Civ game I think it's been a while even new
45:11
Dawn's were I don't come when it came out but probably 8 years ago maybe yeah
45:18
probably is about about eight years now something like that so I'm going Civ cuz I like it and I miss it even
45:25
though Curly's got it yeah we we've got that I think but it's you know it's a bit of a monster to geter it's the
45:31
thought of it and knowing curly like I do he was like should we play s be like
45:37
yeah we could play this other game yeah I've got to set it up though and it's like all the little chits and tokens
45:43
there so much of because he's got both expansions and that's the other reason like just do a like a deluxe box with it
45:50
all in modernize the crap out of it put 2025 on job done boom before I cancelled my
45:58
t-u app and deleted it was it on there well the reason I yeah no the reason I
46:04
um went on T again in the first place was to buy more little plastic Petri dishes like like the ones what we use
46:11
like the ones that we've used for loads of stuff and I thought oh they do have a habit of breaking when people are messing around with them um so I thought
46:19
I'll just get some more I'll buy 400 well I bought I think a set of like might have been 20 or 40 only it turns
46:26
out I didn't really read the description this is typical Teemu they're actually about as big as a about as big as a a
46:33
small medal I would say God so they're really like so they're like they're like I don't know 5 cm diameter and it's like
46:42
[ __ ] that was not what I wanted so maybe if there's about a thousand different
46:47
pieces but there's not very many of each one but there's five of them yeah so maybe I could pre- sort C into tiny
46:54
little Petra dishes and that would say Oran you might be able to do it with some of the tokens maybe not all no yeah
47:02
there we go nice on to the next one so the next one is your favorite game that
Favourite game that your glad you don't own
47:08
you're glad you don't own so I'm going to go first on this one
47:15
because it's a game that no one listening to this podcast will have ever heard of it's too many bones ah you've
47:21
copied Mine mine's the same yeah mine's too many bones yep it's too big it's too expensive and it wouldn't get to the
47:27
table enough if I owned it y but it's a great game but I love it as a game um
47:33
and we're really glad that JP owns every little thing they've ever made ever and it's been over a year since I've played
47:39
it so JP needs to get another game up of it so I can play agreed so yeah so that was mine um I did think of too many
47:45
bones but I didn't have that one but I did think I thought someone would say that because of the expense of it and someone's got it it's great right yeah
47:52
but yeah go on in Tambo what's yours uh mine is similar the V with the same reasons as eclipse
47:57
yeah good choice good choice I've come so close to buying that game but I would not get to the table enough of if my
48:03
family or anything like that so I'm so glad someone else owns it and I love playing it yeah yeah JP's got the
48:10
expansions for it now which makes even better can always r on JP when you get you can yeah you can this is why JP is
48:17
clearly struggling you can see on his face he doesn't have a game he doesn't own because he owns all the big
48:22
expensive board games that we all want to play so what is yours JP I don't have
48:29
one I'm honestly I I'm thinking I see it I want it I'll buy it civilization there
48:34
you go I I did have that I just looked at can't talk about Civ again but yeah I generally don't have one cuz I'm a
48:42
nightmare um but yeah there's going to be a re there's going to be one I'm going to have a little think but go on to you be
48:49
oh mine too many bones yeah crap mine was too many bones cuz only crazy people had own all of that it's true is true
48:56
that I mean there are games that I don't own that I enjoy playing but I tend to be if I if I really enjoy it I just get
49:03
it yeah me too because me too I like to be able to play it on my terms absolutely I when I want to play it and
49:09
I feel like I want to play it I want to have it Adrian's like and you can borrow it whenever you like it's like that's really kind of you thank you so much but
49:15
I want to own it if I want to play at 2:00 in the morning on a Monday I I don't want to have to ring you up and
49:21
wake you up yeah you're not getting keys to me house I'll go Ser stock answer
49:27
nice so you just can't have Civ now for the rest of this episode on your answers all right no if I keep saying that again
49:33
I don't think I've got it for anymore I think we're safe so then we'll start with JP this
Favourite game that isn't very replayable
49:39
time what is your favorite game that isn't very replayable Civ no
49:45
um my favorite game that isn't very replayable is the cantal loop books nice
49:53
because I've literally just got book three for Christmas and I can't wait to just sit and play it on a nice Sunday
49:59
afternoon when basically no one will bother me and I can just get on with it so calute if you don't know what it is
50:06
it's like a point and click adventure but done in a book fashion so if you like Monkey Island or you like the day
50:12
of the tentacle those kind of Old Lucas uh Lucas Arts Point click games it's just like that how do you solve this pz
50:19
puzzle where you just put this F fish finger in this porridge and then magically a griffin arrives and then you can use that to get to the top of the
50:25
mountain exactly sorry what so in book one there was a thing around a condom and something else that you had
50:31
to kind of mix together to unblock a toilet I don't know but it's a proper blocker toilet I can't remember but I
50:37
remember a condom being involed he's trying desperately not to spoil it for everyone yeah I don't I don't think I
50:43
have but you kind of move around locations which are pages in the book and certain locations you can't go to
50:49
until you've you know you've unlocked certain ways in and it's just got a really clever way of interacting with it with matching cards and codes and and
50:56
you have a one of those um red seethrough things decod thing decoder
51:03
yeah and you know you can kind of hides text until you want to read it and you interact sounds great it's a great solo
51:10
kind of Sunday afternoon I just fancy doing something analog yeah but yeah and
51:16
it gives you that 90s Vibe of wa late 80s Vibe of just point and click adventures and fun I think I might have
51:21
to buy that I think you'd enjoy you like Monkey Island you it's got that weird humor yeah and it's it's really well
51:28
done so yeah I'd say that because once you played it you've played it and you've kind of done with it so I think
51:34
I've probably got book one or maybe Rob's got book one so you can borrow it oh thanks yeah definitely got book two
51:40
in there but I wouldn't start there for obvious reasons cuz it's a Trilogy it's a story yeah and it's a book it's a book
51:46
byy Lookout games okay you can buy it yeah cool cter loop that's me so Becky
51:53
we're going on to you now to stop you shopping and buying game on te it's not on te I'm not buying on
52:01
teu my my choice is and I'm going to get the death stare from T so I'm not going
52:07
to look at him while I'm saying this it's Mansions of Madness which I
52:13
know people might be like what nonsense are you talking there's about a thousand different scenarios and all that stuff
52:19
which yet there is but can you really play them a second time without knowing
52:26
kind of how it works can you really and I absolutely would I think
52:33
right you got to give yourself time between my brains craps remembering cre me too me so I mean I can watch a film and if I don't see it twice I could
52:39
literally see it again you know I don't know six weeks later like what who's that what's going on here and curly be
52:44
like you've just what but yeah it just deletes out my short-term memory so it's fine but yeah can you really play it
52:51
twice and the amount of pieces in that game and yeah all right you've got infinite kind of
52:57
sort of swapability if you play different characters you're going to have a slightly different yeah so it is
53:03
very randomized but I mean really when you're on that train you know the end
53:09
Carriage is going to start falling away so you don't hang out at the end carrot like do you know what I mean like it the
53:15
experience bit like Fight Club once you've well we can't talk about it so I better not say that but yeah if you
53:20
played it once you can't do it again can you you once you know the secret
53:26
you know the secret no that's it smells yeah so that's my unfavorable although I
53:32
I love it and I will never sell it so I'm talking out of my ass obviously it is replayable I would never sell it but
53:38
you're never going to get that same first feeling as you would the second time makes sense you can definitely
53:45
overplay a scenario yeah yeah 100% oh canel Loop $1.99 bargain best
53:52
$1.99 you'll spend well you could buy 400 Petri dishes on teu for 119 yeah you
53:59
could yeah but they will be bloody small and useless I stand by my [Laughter]
54:04
statement the one I'm going to go with is a game that I've not actually finished yet which is pandemic Legacy
54:11
season zero it's a legacy game makes it difficult to not impossible to replay
54:17
but it spoils all of the surprises I've finished season 1 I wouldn't choose to play that again I had a thoroughly great
54:24
time with season 1 I'm really loving season Z um if not for the fact that you get a little passport with all your little
54:29
aliases on and you get to dress them up you get these little stickers that you put their hair on you put the scarf on
54:36
and their glasses and you give them a name and then you go go to the like it'll be like you unlock another Alias
54:43
oh yeah put the next set of glasses on or the hair or the whatever I absolutely
54:49
love love it and and I I've talked enough about pandemic um over over the
54:54
episodes to know that I really enjoy pandemic generally as a game so yeah that's my one favorite but you can
55:01
replay it and I've heard of people playing through season 1 three and four times I just think it a bit like the
55:07
Mansions of Madness thing it loses something every time you play it cuz there are certain boxes you might never open um I remember Risk Legacy had a
55:14
very specific if this happens then open it and you can go the entire campaign without opening it um so I'm guessing
55:21
there's something that in season zero as well but you just wouldn't get the same experience you'd know what you need to
55:27
do yeah for the next month roughly even if you can't remember exactly every month what happens you'd remember a
55:32
little bit of it t what's your favorite game that's not very replayable um I think my
55:38
favorite game that I won't ever replay will be Gloom Haven the jaws of lion expansion one I love that cuz it was so
55:44
smaller on the book yeah um but there's only four characters I know you could go back and play a different character but
55:49
I think again I won't I've done it now and I haven't opened it since and I
55:55
think once you've done story and there not that many different directions you go and draws a line either so it's not like Gloom you can choose or even Frost
56:02
over you can go all different ways this one is very quite one diagonally so it's
56:07
like once you done it it's done nice yeah I think that's one but I really enjoyed it I loved playing it but I
56:12
won't I haven't got it again I'm not interested to be hon yeah I kind of can't blame you okay it I think anything
56:18
with a story or unlockable tends to be like that I think that's kind what we've
Favourite game that we prefer to play at a convention
56:24
yeah so shall we talk our favorite game that we prefer to play at a
56:30
convention Becky so I don't know that I I do I always tend to play at a
56:36
convention and this is what Curley pointed out to me it's Septima I've played that more out that I have in and
56:45
I think it's because I really like introducing other people to it because I
56:50
think it's maybe because I'm just so proud of myself that I'm playing a big boy game and I want to kind of
56:57
get others to join that even if they're not sort of maybe massive Gamers and I think it's a really nice board and I
57:05
think it's complex enough that it challenges people a bit but it's not too much and I just really like it and yeah
57:13
I don't know I'm not saying it's specifically good for a convention because it's too big for a start really
57:19
for a con like it's a big old chunk of a box but I just yeah I don't know there's
57:24
something that's quite yeah I just like playing at a convention and I can't really put my finger on why nice that's
57:31
fair enough it's uh it's the right answer for you yeah nice my one I think
57:36
is going to be Marvel United I love playing Marvel United I've played it a lot at home as well but I've
57:43
started getting to a point where I almost don't play it at home anymore I play it at conventions or at game nights
57:49
or stuff like that because there's a few reasons it's it's too light a game to
57:54
make an evening of really and it you can kind of use it as a filler game but it's not like an evening game where you'd
58:00
play it all evening I don't think so which makes it perfect for conventions right because you spend a whole day
58:06
gaming and then near the end you're like a let's play something light I've got enough I don't have all of the
58:11
characters cuz that'd be crazy I'm I say that loads of people will have but I love putting the characters out and
58:17
everyone getting to pick their favorite Marvel hero because they're all I'm having Wolverine or I'm having Captain America or whatever and the game is Just
58:25
asymmetric enough for the character choice to make a difference but not so asymmetric that you're going to have to teach them any extra rules than you do
58:31
the other players so it's nice and easy to teach um it fills a small Gap in time
58:37
and I just love seeing what everyone picks as their hero and you'll have the discussion over which villain are we playing against and again that makes me
58:43
chuckle cuz depending upon which people's sort of comic books or or movies or TV shows they like they'll
58:49
always fight for to face the villain that they like their Heroes facing sort of thing so I enjoy all of it for that I
58:56
again not for there's not really too many specific reasons for it just those little amalgamation of reasons make it
59:01
that I now basically don't play it at my house I only play out and about at game nights or conventions ni yeah I love it
59:09
you said I want to play against I I will probably bring it to talkie that's what I had my thought on because you've not
59:15
played at JP have you and I think it's one of those I think actually it might be one of those where you pick that a couple of base games up and have it as a
59:21
family yeah it's that kind of weight that I think you could do something like that with it if you wanted to I would
59:26
enjoy it I bet played played it with Rob he he seemed to enjoy it so
59:32
hopefully yeah so it's one of those where I think it's it's just a fun game t Okay jppy help me um Los Angeles
59:42
new Angeles new Angeles bastard he's T he's tall of mine ah so we go together yeah that's fine new Angeles it's just
59:48
the whole bringing is it six P players six players six players bringing together and just having negotiation fun right that's all
59:56
it is it's bantering yeah sling like getting allies and not getting allies and then yeah the hidden dirtiness is it
1:00:04
it's just hidden dir and it's just great to get different people to play oh you
1:00:10
know what yeah I think we're on the same wave L to because I mean new Angeles is um set in the Android Netrunner universe
1:00:16
so it's ffg's um Netrunner tacky new future
1:00:22
cyber Punky [ __ ] um and but it's not an airrunner obviously it's its own
1:00:29
negotiation game I think they should actually use this game for negotiators
1:00:34
yeah uh to train on how to be a good negotiator because that's what it is you kind of just you're playing it the board
1:00:42
is new Angeles as a city shit's happening all over the place there's riots everywhere you've got um the kind
1:00:49
of security cops that trying to musle all the gangs out and yeah the disease happening and you're trying to but if
1:00:56
you don't work together it goes nuts so you got to work together but then you you got your own cooperation points to
1:01:02
yeah you got to be the biggest exactly you play as a Corp and you're CEO of that Corp so you're selfish because you
1:01:09
want to make the most Capital out of the situation so you might be the one that's like gin techy all about the viruses and
1:01:17
and hoovering up all the viruses and you get all the capital for doing that so everything every time there's a um you
1:01:23
play like a a card on this is the offer and you're like yeah we should ho up all the viruses and everyone's like yeah but
1:01:29
you're going to make loads of money doing that so piss off and then you get out bid and you and you usually
1:01:35
negotiating over an asset which is a a character card in the in the industry in the universe and if you win that it
1:01:42
gives you an ability you can tap it and do some sort of cool stuff and so at his premise it's quite a straightforward
1:01:48
game but it's the people around the table uh that just makes it I would love
1:01:54
to give that a go yeah honestly it's good it's sh quite shouty it's quite like yeah it's I say
1:02:03
in your face but you get quite into it because you can't help it and you're just like right no I want this I imagine
1:02:09
if you play with your husband that might follow you home then when you're like why you didn't give me that could do that's all right yeah it could sounds
1:02:16
sounds like a good reason to play fine yeah but we what happens at game conventions St that's it t that's it but
1:02:21
we played at full ball gaming last year didn't we and uh yeah I had absolute blast cuz it's rare you get six players
1:02:27
yeah so at conventions it works but you need the right kind of convention because you're going to be that table in
1:02:33
the corner that's making the most noise we usually are anyway which is us which is us but more noise than we probably
1:02:40
would nor we had Marcus who was absolutely loving it as well I can imagine marus getting right involved
1:02:45
yeah cuz one of one of you is um oh what's the word the dick
1:02:51
basically he's a government he's a government yeah you're Federalist federalist that's it one of you is the
1:02:56
Federalist which is a hidden uh kind of agenda right you're still like gin or
1:03:03
whatever one of the cops but you're also the Federalist so you you kind of want to help but then you want to get to a
1:03:08
point in the game when you got enough Capital to basically tank the game and you just you just want everyone to lose
1:03:13
because once you lose the government comes and takes over Illuminati sort of thing and you're just like come on guys
1:03:19
let's do all this kind of thing and it's got very much um Battle Star Galactica okay card draw where you got all the
1:03:25
five different Colors oh and you can totally mess up stuff oh but I accidentally put that I didn't mean to
1:03:31
yeah all of that in there and you don't quite know who's who and the thing I actually really like about it to win the
1:03:36
game you just need to beat your rival that's right I keep forget about that so you just got to beat one person unless
1:03:41
you draw yourself then you have to beat everyone with the capital but generally the Rival rival is like determined you
1:03:48
could be my rival person number 48 yeah so all I've got to do is get more Capital than you right so actually in
1:03:54
that game six players four could win you might not be my rival correct my rival might be T okay really it's really
1:04:00
you're trying to sus out like who who who's trying to SC me who am I trying to yeah okay great that sounds cool I would
1:04:07
like to play that yeah please please play it other than at full board gaming I might save it for North Deon oh that'd
1:04:14
be good yeah that would be good let's do it one last topic and we're going to C throw a real curveball out there now
Favourite game that you could smuggle through customs if board games are contraband
1:04:20
we're going to paint you a scenario and then ask the question so what is your favorite game that you think you could
1:04:26
smuggle through customs if board games were Contraband so you know England's
1:04:31
decided wherever you are from this listening that has decided that games are no longer allowed to be imported
1:04:37
exported we've gone off to Wesson come back through customs have our we love meeples t-shirts on and they're like in
1:04:44
this room mate what do you think you've been able to smuggle through to get through
1:04:50
customs back from Essen well you laugh that's kind of what nearly happened when we came back from Essen that's you
1:04:55
remember the first time when you joked about what's in the roof box or something and they were like now let's see what's in the roof box oh and the
1:05:02
second time yeah we had the roof box incident incident they just checked the roof box and they opened it it's full of
1:05:08
board games they went it was weird and Away on your way and then the second time I was in the airport and then I
1:05:16
well my bags got searched oh yeah they did and I had obviously board games cuz of taking a back from Asen and then the
1:05:23
guy I think there a woman there like oh we checked these board games out and they opened it all up and they didn't do
1:05:29
all the popping for you did they sort them all out luckily it was already popped and baged them stuff like that and then the guy walked over and said
1:05:36
Spiel like Spiel he one of those yeah he like don't worry about iter just another
1:05:42
nerd let him go on so none of those games can go on your list just the same as cluster can't go on Becky's list oh
1:05:47
cluster was on my list well I was going to ask you couldn't smug all that I was going to ask are we are we are they going to be using x-ray I I I don't no
1:05:55
just what do you think you could get away with if someone sort of gave you a bit of a closer search your bag bit of a closer look but nothing too crazy
1:06:02
depends what you do with the individual stuff well this is it cuz I was going to put one in my sock one in a shoe one in
1:06:07
you know my really hope you didn't put any of those limbs or other body parts close to
1:06:12
each other in CU yeah I mean on their own which just a bit string is it oh it's just a
1:06:19
little hematite Pebble what's dodgy about that but altogether they can look like a gun in your bag in Disneyland so
1:06:26
be careful people but if I didn't choose cluster I was going to say like Scout or
1:06:31
maybe Bananagrams yeah it's a lot of tiles though I was going to say Bananagrams
1:06:37
how many of these are you swallowing get through 144 tiles I know this I've done one of those Grabber Grand things in a
1:06:43
in a phone box with all the money flapping about oh yeah yeah and Crystal Maze like a Crystal Maze yeah and I I
1:06:50
decided and it worked cuz I won just stuff it all down my bra and they were 20 notes
1:06:56
right I got home later that night and I found a 20 quid note was still in my and I didn't have notice so I reckon easy no
1:07:02
problem banana all I can see is just as you sat at a table with a glass of water slowly swallowing these things I'm not
1:07:09
swallowing them 140 144 tiles later see what word you can poop out this is going to be this is
1:07:16
going to be good in 36 hours I have to say I have played I don't know it must have been 15 games of banana GRS over
1:07:23
Christmas wow because the family we we got it for Caitlyn my daughter and she
1:07:29
she loves it she wants to play all the time and then we're playing it around families all that stuff yeah so I kind of like when I first played it I was a
1:07:36
bit and then I I think they were playing it wrong and then actually playing it properly that's quite good fun quite ban
1:07:42
I like the fact that she says having bought it but never actually played it cuz I haven't found anybody who wants to
1:07:47
play it with me oh sadly play with you thanks mate good um it's about who can
1:07:52
make the word quickly not oh I spelled CHI with a Q and an I on a triple letter
1:07:58
score my favorite trick in Scrabble CU I can't spell so I know all the two words bloody yeah but I can think of a really
1:08:05
rare word that no one even knows but I know it's a word that's great like a cross word that you're just kind of assembling yourself making it work I
1:08:12
should like I should like Scrabble but I just don't but banan grams is good because it's like I've got these really obscure letters but I can think of a I
1:08:19
think of a great word whereas I'm Scrabble it score you six but the actual word is something really skill so that's
1:08:26
why I like it we're doing rants next episode so I'm going to start and cut across you here stop the r i could
1:08:32
definitely smuggle in the letters in banana grams definitely going to go the other way JP
1:08:37
I am going to go with Kiri ey the jewel I thought you might because the cards there's about what 14 cards in this game
1:08:44
and the cards are actually made out of that PVC kind of plastic stuff so you can just put them in your wallet like credit cards and I want to know no
1:08:51
wouldn't know you just smuggle it put in your wallet go just credit card why is there Japanese little like Katana
1:08:58
slices um so yeah everything's a card in that game other than the pouch but you just get rid of the pouchy bit put some
1:09:05
money in it but yeah actually the the case is the wallet yeah put the money in it job done I didn't think of that I say
1:09:12
even better isn't it there we go no one knows safe safe T mine's going to be
1:09:19
tiny epic dinosaurs oh h no it's not that hard cuz if you have like a little bag of dinosaurs keep them separate they
1:09:25
put OB in the box so you just keep all separate you just say oh my kids play with dinosaurs dinosaur
1:09:31
Army ask you where you're secreting the dinosaurs but you're not you're PL sight sight and then um the map it's
1:09:39
like six bits of C you just slit Between Two Bits of Paper and in a folder going to see them you just and the de of cards
1:09:45
just little slit inside of your suitcase put they're not huge cards you're destroying a lot of things yeah you sew
1:09:51
it up up yeah you can buy a suitcas a little hidden comp the the cards aren't
1:09:56
that many in a small nice yeah and the one dice well you know you can put
1:10:02
that clench them just keep them clenched one single Dice and that's tin epic dinosaur smug
1:10:10
down too quickly like what's that smell yeah it might not be a green dice
1:10:16
anymore nice what about you m what are you smuggling kind of a similar thought process to JP it's spops yeah so it's a
1:10:25
button shy game and button shy games come in these little plastic wallets oh the ones in the little yeah yeah yeah
1:10:31
yeah um and it's 12 cards or something like that even better that I can
1:10:37
probably just move them put them inside my wallet but the SP opolis is like a navy blue and it looks like the travel
1:10:45
wallets for oyster cards so I could literally just print oyster off put that
1:10:50
on the front of it I reckon I could get away with that without even having to distribute the cards cuz it's pretty much the same color as my old oy I think
1:10:58
oyster wallets might now be yellow so I might have to try tussy musy cuz that's a yellow wallet instead from the same company but yeah you could just get way
1:11:04
to put a little oyster on there and I reckon I could get that through without them even opening it to see what's inside that's very good so yeah so
1:11:11
that's mine there we are there we have it some nich number ones hopefully it's um provided you some food for thought
1:11:16
and maybe prompted some games we don't always talk about yeah always got fun to do yeah I enjoy these and let us know in
1:11:22
the comments of any Social Media stuff that we do um what your choices would be because I always like hearing what what
1:11:28
people would do in these odd and obscure [Music]
TURN 4 - Receive, Sleeve or Leave
1:11:41
situations so we're on to our new segment that we've been tring out which is receive sleeve or leave so in this
1:11:48
we're going to give you three board games one of them you're going to say well I probably wouldn't buy it for myself but I wouldn't mind receiving it
1:11:53
probably put it on the table a few times enjoy you got sleeve which is a game you enjoy so much that you probably need to
1:11:59
protect it and and cherish it and therefore you might sleeve the cards and leave which gets left on your shelf or
1:12:05
on the store shelf possibly or in the bin or in the bin as I said last time so having just talked about games that we
1:12:12
might be able to smuggle through customs got to keep that in now JP can't cut that out continuity problems that's fine
1:12:17
that's going to keep that one in anyway especially about tambo's pooy
1:12:23
D sh we talk about games that are in small boxes and that we
1:12:29
reckon are useful there so we'll go with tiny epic dinosaurs Bandido or far away
1:12:38
what are we thinking which one are we the kuchi woman which one are we feeling I thought it said kabut Sumo and
1:12:45
I was that wasn't one of the choices um so which one are we feeling we'll receive sleeve or leave out tiny epic
1:12:51
dinosaurs Bandido and far away
1:12:57
I've got mine straight away go on back you leave the charge I am receiving far
1:13:03
away cuz I I quite liked it I think I could definitely do with playing a few more times but I don't know that I'm
1:13:09
going to love it forever Bandido is the one I'm going to sleeve because that is a perfect game
1:13:16
for just whing away 15 minutes while you makes to still playing a game before you can join in the new game and leaving I'm
1:13:23
sorry T tiny epic dinosaurs okay tiny epic I just I should like it but I don't
1:13:29
maybe it's cuz it's dinosaurs I'm just kny to Dinosaur I've just heard curly
1:13:35
ra I've played it once yeah it it was fine it was fine but I just I can't
1:13:41
bring myself to really care about things with Dinosaurs in so tiny epic the other
1:13:48
one Millions the other one yeah the Western I really liked that I really liked that but yeah so mine is going to
1:13:55
be um receive far away sleeve Bandido and leave tiny epic
1:14:01
dinosaurs yeah okay I've got mine then so mine is I'll receive tiny epic
1:14:09
dinosaurs mainly because I've never played it so I can't really form an opinion on it no you never played so if
1:14:14
I receive it I'll play it and I'll form an opinion and then deal with it whatever uh so that leaves Bandido which
1:14:21
I also haven't played but I'll be honest does not interest me whatsoever so I'll probably happily leave it and I'll just
1:14:28
leave far away nice yeah okay mine receive far
1:14:35
away leave Bandido I've never played it don't know what it is so have you played sabur no it's it's basically like a root
1:14:43
M you you'll get tiles on that have like little roots on them what you're trying to do is make it so there's no ends oh
1:14:49
I've seen this play so you're slowly sort of putting them out it's like Tes testing it trying to make it so that
1:14:54
Cooper atively you have no ends all the tunnels up tunnels yeah no you can leave
1:15:00
it it's fine I'll play it I'll play it yeah I'll do I will play it but I just you have to
1:15:06
pick one don't you yeah I have to pick one so that's the one I leave and then I S sounds harsh on Bandido do it but my favorite games T epos so leave it yeah
1:15:14
well this is tough for me because I basically picked three games that are definitely in my top 100 um so it makes
1:15:19
it quite hard to put this in order however let's give it a go
1:15:27
I am going to I I don't know that I can do anything
1:15:33
but sleeve Bandido because I think I've played a hundred games of it because every time I go and cook food the group
1:15:41
or me and a friend if we're just playing together we'll go and grab Bandido and play three or four games of it cuz it's
1:15:47
that quick so I think as much as I think I might prefer far away I think I've got no choice to
1:15:54
but to sleeve Bandido purely because of how much I've played it like
1:16:00
those those cards are now looking worn and because it only cost1 pound I wasn't going to spend money sleeving the
1:16:06
card point is um ironically but I think it's got to go there then I think far
1:16:12
away will have to be my my receive because I'm I've got the expansion I'm still showing it to people still getting
1:16:18
just a much a kick watching them figure out the puzzle as actually playing the game and
1:16:24
now I'm trying weird stuff with it CU I've played it so many times that I'm now trying weird combinations of let's
1:16:29
see if I can pull off this ridiculous com oh I've only scored 12 points like it didn't work yeah it didn't work so I
1:16:36
think that would have to be my receive and then leave sadly because it is really good and it's one of only two
1:16:43
tiny epic games I've kept at this point is Tiny epic dinosaurs and I say it's really tough because I've just the
1:16:49
reason why I've picked those games out is I think because I love them so much and they were the first ones that came to mind enough yeah had pretty much
1:16:56
every commutation of those three yeah if I had my choice it' be sleeve sleeve and sleeve if I'm honest um but that's not
1:17:03
how the game work Big M and sleeve all the games can you only sleeve one so yeah I think again I think we've
1:17:10
had all the permutations all the reasons different reasons as to why so yeah let
1:17:16
us know what you'd do
TURN 5 - Penultimate Turn: What's Coming Up
1:17:22
[Music] and moving on to our penultimate turn
1:17:30
what are we all looking forward to so Becky what are you looking forward to I
1:17:37
mentioned in the last podcast I was in that I'd put a game of orens or Leons
1:17:42
orans next week yeah so I need to hurry up and a learn to play the game B
1:17:48
actually get it out the box and uh yeah is it popped I don't know mate I've
1:17:53
never opened it I've never no it isn't never opened it if you haven't done it Curly's definit was it a new game did he
1:17:59
buy it second hand I don't he got cover on that's a good question it isn't it isn't in
1:18:04
shrink I don't believe def shrink maybe maybe it was second hand then I know but I've never open I've never lifted the
1:18:11
lid oh well so I'm looking forward to playing that yeah that'd be fun it's it looks fun I'm intrigued by it you know I
1:18:18
like a good midweight Euro that's based in a city or town in Europe just going to call it
1:18:25
all evening just to piss you off oh is he playing is he I think so yeah okay yeah no he has to do in the French
1:18:31
pronunciation I don't think you got any chance no chance on she go to play it I need to need to give
1:18:37
it% so that's what I'm looking forward to nice I'll go next because the rest of
1:18:43
us so Becky's not joining us for for full I'm not too sad to be honest I mean I'm sad but not you're going on a nicer
1:18:50
holiday yeah it's not like you're working or no if I was working I'd be I'd be gutted but I'm not I'll be
1:18:55
sanning about well actually I'll be hung over well not hung over but you know what's it called jet lagged to W so I
1:19:03
wish I wasn't different but simar side effect still feel like [ __ ] so yeah but
1:19:10
um yeah you're we going to full board gaming yeah second one second one down
1:19:16
in to um I got such bad fomo last year so last year I was one of the few of the
1:19:22
group that didn't go cuz I was watching funds a little bit more closely than I think I will be this year if I'm honest
1:19:28
um so I have to have to book up this time so I'm really looking forward to it
1:19:34
and I think the reason why I'm really looking forward to it is I'm not on a massive push at the moment to play
1:19:40
endless amounts of board games I'm enjoying my board gaming but I'm not feeling that 24-hour grid Conn at the
1:19:47
moment and that's not this kind of event there a swimming pool 10 Pin bowling SAA
1:19:54
food obviously it's torquis so if you want to go for a walk it's January February but ifach is still there
1:20:01
there's a SE front there's a se you can do all of that kind of stuff so all of that is there the bars nearby um all of
1:20:08
that stuff is there and yet there's gaming available and plenty of people gaming um and it's three night three
1:20:15
days Friday Saturday Sunday yeah I've also booked Sunday night so I can stay till Monday yeah I was like I was like I
1:20:21
don't fancy racing back on Sunday cuz finishes at 3: or 4 or something on the Sunday I think it was no I can't
1:20:27
remember but yeah we usually leave around that time went to Monday didn't it it it can if you you can book so I've
1:20:34
paid I've paid to stay overnight on the Sunday um so yes I'm just looking forward to it's kind of it's bit like I
1:20:41
was talking I don't oh I say I was talking I think I talked about this on the podcast one of the reasons why I really want to do the um the board game
1:20:48
cruise that Dice Tower does is because it's kind of part holiday part gaming
1:20:53
experience it's it's that's really high on my bucket list it's just so expensive from England on your
1:21:00
own so it that's tough but this one gives me similar Vibes it's part sort of
1:21:06
weekend away Beach holidayish sort of thing during January February but it's part that part gaming experience and I'm
1:21:12
just really looking forward to it you guys went last year right so yes yeah first because it's its first ever
1:21:18
Convention as well Matt PR's convention and yeah so I thought he did a really
1:21:23
good job and like the you're right the vibe and the feeling of that convention is like most
1:21:29
conventions feel different don't they to each other but that one has a a very different it is a bit like you're on
1:21:35
holiday yeah like cuz you're in a hotel it's got the facilities they even got entertainment if you want if you just
1:21:40
want to go and pop downstairs and watch a singer you can do that nice if you really want to do that like so all the
1:21:46
food's amazing the food's really good nice and it's buffet style so you just
1:21:52
help yourself you go large at breakfast Go Large at tea you know you probably you probably don't need a lunch to be
1:21:58
honest carries you through you got baking baths we like oh oh God I forgot that was
1:22:03
amazing bacon BS turned out f bacon B they just came with a tray and um
1:22:09
what mentioning this last time I forgot until you mentioned it we already stuffed such a big
1:22:16
dealat I better have I'll save it for later um no it's it's it's great fun and
1:22:23
it's actually really good value for it is which is I remember we interviewed Matt feels like years ago
1:22:30
probably years ago at this point we interviewed it and he was talking about that sort of experience and and trying
1:22:36
to get value for money out of out of it and yeah it was hard to say no again this year after watching you guys have
1:22:41
such a great time last year it was great and especially with Fox and Hounds which
1:22:47
is another one that's in our Diaries being a bit further away this time cuz it's in March rather than in Feb so it's
1:22:54
felt more possible yeah cuz last time is was it like two like two three weeks apart
1:23:00
wasn't it it wasn't very far apart so that that's helped with that decision to book up yeah can't wait yeah would
1:23:07
strongly recommend it I'm I'm quite sad we're not going to be there but not too sad but not yeah not sad enough to
1:23:12
cancel the two we Disney holiday 100% but no it's not worth that but sorry Matt sorry I it's a good event but that
1:23:19
is does just trump it a little bit but I am really I am going to get fomo I am going to be looking at all your pictures
1:23:24
oh which we could be there but there we are and we get to see our friends from
1:23:30
the industry as well different people are turning up for for that um so that's always good to catch up with different
1:23:35
peeps yeah yeah like it what you got T um I got Nemesis tomorrow with curly and
1:23:41
Chrissy so that's going to be fun my nephew nice Full House five of Nemesis that's going to be fun and yeah and it's
1:23:46
the four that weekend I think mainly oh and getting my new tiny epic Game of Thrones to the table at some point which
1:23:51
I will do I will try it but Al look for to that yeah I just had my delivery notification I'm just intrigued cuz
1:23:57
obviously it's got like a solo co-op mode and screw your friends mode like
1:24:03
like the big version um so I'm just intrigued by that so yeah I mean the Bas
1:24:08
game a screw one then the The Ice of fire yeah is the co-op and it puts a fifth player possibly yeah or was there
1:24:16
another pack that puts I can't remember what no 5 one it says puts five I'm not sure if it puts must put five player in
1:24:21
the main game as well maybe I don't yeah I don't know but you you'll have to let know how that goes cuz I'm yeah I will pumped for that and you got yours a
1:24:27
couple of weeks ahead of me or a week or so ahead of me I arrived a couple days ago so yeah but no it's good I'm
1:24:33
interested to see how they can pack in such an epic game as Game of Thrones into a tiny epic game yeah I think it's
1:24:40
worth comparing it's going to be like the ACT Game of Thrones but it's going to be sort of I I'm actually yeah I'm really interested to see how they how
1:24:46
they actually provide that experience we'll see we'll see yeah for
1:24:52
me recently uh cloudspire is getting a good
1:24:58
you have managed to find your little I found a little clicky group who really
1:25:03
enjoy it spy club we the little Cloud spy Club um so we had a four player not
1:25:08
long back Marcus jumped in I think he really enjoyed it uh that game did go on but we didn't care it was just really
1:25:15
good fun so that I'm I'm just really enjoying exploring it from being honest
1:25:20
because it's you know getting chance to properly play it and and learn it and
1:25:25
try the expansion factions which we played uh yeah last time the Horizon Raph and the uprising which was good fun
1:25:33
to see how they worked and it's making me more excited actually for the the future stuff that's coming so that's one
1:25:38
thing I'm really looking forward to so we've got another game at the end of the month and uh and then finishing the arcs campaign the AR which is the third act
1:25:46
and Final Act and yeah man I'm not going to talk about it because I want to talk about the experience on proper let's
1:25:53
talk about hex segment but my God it's going in directions that's all I'll say
1:25:58
but yeah ups and downs roller coasters oh ups and downs Jesus Tambo side will probably
1:26:05
tell you um but yeah I'm just looking forward to seeing where the crescendo ends with that that kind of yeah free
1:26:11
game campaign so yeah intrigued looking forward to it all the exciting stuff yeah baby that's our episode done thank
